Who is Nicki Minaj
PhotobucketNicki Minaj is one of the biggest female hip-hop artist of the world in 2012.  She didn't  get fame over night, but in due time her hard work paid off.

She is a very inspiring young lady, and she has many loyal fans to prove just how wonderful of an artist she is.  Not only does she have loyal fans, but she has several number one hits and collaborations with big artists like
Eninem, Rihanna, Drake, Lil Wayne, Kanye West, and so many more to prove it.

Fame didn't come overnight, so read how she became the superstar she is today, and discover the true Nicki Minaj behind the stardom.

Nicki is truly a star within her-self.

Minus the alter ego, the hair, and clothing.  There's a  real person who is just like you and me.  Read on to discover what you didn't know about Nicki Minaj.

Nicki Minaj's real name is Onika Tanya Maraj
She was born in Saint James, Trinidad, and moved to Queens when she was five years old.  She explained on Vh1 how her mother left her and her brother in Trinidad while her mom and dad went to the United States.  After, a few years of staying with her grandmother in Trinidad, her mom came back to get them, to go back to the United States, but it wasn't exactly how she pictured
life to be.

Nicki played pretend a lot as a little girl, Which may contribute to her alter egos or stage personality.

Nicki Minaj says her fifth grade teacher helped her bring out a lot of personality she had within her.
This included acting, her alto egos, and rap.

Once Nicki entered high school
She started to develop the acting side of her by getting involved in theatre. There were only three African-American girls including Nicki, which made her stand out from the crowd.

During her senior year, she was told how good of an actress she was, but her plan of being an actress didn't happen like she planned it would.  So, Nicki advance to one of her other talents, which was raping.

Nicki started working at Red-Lobster and did some Broadway
Before Nicki Minaj gave up completely on acting, she decided to try it one more time.  After another fail attempt at it, she found out it was still not easy for her to be a successful actress.  At 18 she was working at Red-Lobster, had an office assistant job, but what she really wanted to do now was rap.

After, work she would go to a label company to record music, and she stated on Vh1, that this  the last try for the hopes of making one of her dreams come true.

Nicki stated she was going to give it her all.

"She was like I don't care if I end up in a shelter, I just want to give it one last try."

Her break through finally came in 2002, when she was recruited by a local act called the Hood-Stars as a solo act.

In a single called autobiography she wrote about everything she had gone through.  She says writing was her only escape for her emotions.  She soon made a Myspace page and she begin to get recognized for her talent.  She also begin to make CD's and from there Lil Wayne reach out to her.

Uploaded from the Photobucket iPhone AppHe told her he wanted her to be apart of a group he was starting called "Young Money."  As Nicki crashed the hip-hop scene, she came out with an edgy, animated,  and drive to be a great artist.

August of 2009 she signed to Young Money and her first collaboration was Bedrock along with a few other artists from Young Money.

From there she rose with Yo-Gotti, with the single 5-star chick, from there the rest is history.

Her first single "Massive Attack"

An investments of 500,000 for the video didn't even make the album.

The music she creates will still be good ten years from now.  Her expensive wigs, creative style, and crazy alter egos is credited to her time in theatre.

Nicki Minaj is truly an example we can all follow.  I can understand why she wants to have this "Moment for Life."
